Heather Gorman

Heather Gorman is a seasoned Patent Attorney with extensive experience in intellectual property law, specializing in chemistry, biotechnology, and medical devices. Beginning her career at Kilpatrick Stockton from 2000 to 2002, Gorman prepared and prosecuted patent applications, negotiated IP agreements, and engaged in patent litigation. Gorman continued developing expertise at Georgia Tech Research Corporation from 2002 to 2005 as a Technology Licensing Associate, managing a portfolio of university technologies, overseeing patent prosecution, and fostering startup companies. From May 2005 until July 2023, Gorman served as a Patent Attorney at Thomas Horstemeyer LLP, focusing on a diverse range of fields including molecular biology and nanotechnology, while counseling clients on intellectual property management. Currently, Gorman holds a Patent Attorney position at Ontex. Gorman earned a BS in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University and a JD in Intellectual Property and Patent Law from the University of Georgia School of Law.
