Peter Nies

Peter Nies, CISSP, has an extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.

In their most recent position as the Senior Director of Information Security and IT at Ontic, they are responsible for leading the company's efforts in physical threat management. Ontic is a pioneering protective intelligence software company that assists Fortune 500 and emerging enterprises in safeguarding their employees, customers, and assets. Peter joined Ontic in January 2022 and holds the role to the present.

Prior to Ontic, Peter held various positions at Khoros, starting as the Director of Information Security in December 2017 and later becoming the Senior Director in March 2019. At Khoros, they played a key role in enhancing information security protocols to protect the company's data and systems. Peter'stenure at Khoros ended in January 2022.

Before Khoros, Peter served as the CISO/Director of Information Security at Newgistics from December 2015 to January 2022.

Peter also has a notable history with Experian, where they took on increasing levels of responsibility. Peter served as the VP of Information Security, leading a comprehensive security program redesign from an infrastructure perspective. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Information Security. Peter's time at Experian spanned from 2009 to 2015.

Additionally, Peter worked at Experian as the IT Director of Ecommerce, overseeing the shared application hosting infrastructure and services. Peter also served as a Senior Technical Manager during their tenure from 1999 to 2009.

Before joining Experian, Peter worked as an IT Manager at Raytheon from 1997 to 1999, where they managed IT operations.

Peter began their career at Texas Instruments as a Software Development Manager from 1995 to 1997.

Throughout their career, Peter Nies has consistently displayed expertise in information security and IT management.

Peter Nies, CISSP has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Texas Tech University. Peter also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Information Systems from The University of Texas at Dallas. In addition, they are certified as a CISSP by (ISC)².
