Tim Diels has a diverse work experience in software development and bioinformatics. Tim currently works as a Back-end Developer at ONTOFORCE since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Software Developer at Ghent University from September 2019 to June 2022, where they contributed to the development of the ORCAE platform for gene and genome annotation. Tim also worked as a Software Developer at VIB from June 2017 to August 2019, where they were involved in the development of the ORCAE platform and the PLAZA platform for comparative and evolutionary plant genomics. Before that, they worked as a Research Trainee at the VIB Department of Plant Systems Biology, Ghent University, and UAntwerpen in 2014. In 2011, they completed a Traineeship at IRMM.
Tim Diels completed their general secondary education from Rozenberg S.O. Mol in the years 2001 to 2007. During this time, they studied various subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, English, French, and Dutch. Moving forward, Tim earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science from Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen, studying from 2008 to 2011. Tim then pursued further education at the University of Antwerp, completing their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from 2011 to 2013. Finally, Tim obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Antwerp, graduating in 2015.
