Michael Welly

Michael Welly currently serves as the Director of Solutions Engineering at Ontra since September 2025. Previously, Welly held the same title at Smartsheet from February 2017 to August 2025, where significant contributions included expanding the Solutions Engineering team and enhancing cross-functional collaboration to improve customer success. Earlier roles at Smartsheet also included Senior Manager and Manager of Sales Engineering, focusing on talent acquisition and team alignment with business objectives. Welly's career began at Renticity as Head of Sales and Marketing, followed by a position as a Patent Licensing Solutions Consultant at Terranean Image. Welly's experience also includes roles at Root Metrics, Seattle University as Head Coach for rowing, and Performance Marine as a Parts Sales and Service Writer. Welly holds a B.A. in Economic Geography and History from the University of Washington.
