David Westrom

David Westrom is an experienced engineer specializing in backend development and infrastructure. Currently serving as an Engineer at Respell since August 2024, Westrom previously contributed to Onward (YC S23) as an Engineer, focusing on backend development and rapid prototyping for an AI product. Notably, Westrom held leadership positions at Drop as VP of Engineering and Sr. Director of Engineering, managing a team of 15 full-stack engineers and overseeing cross-functional processes. Westrom also possesses entrepreneurial experience as the Founder and CTO of WeRoll Inc., and has held various engineering roles at Zynga, including Director of Engineering and Senior Manager, Engineering. Earlier experiences include positions at Blast Radius and Electronic Arts Canada. Westrom holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia and a Certificate in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from UC Berkeley College of Engineering.
