Garet Wirth

Garet Wirth has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They started their career in 2010 as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service, where they focused on enforcing federal law, wildlife management, and providing emergency medical assistance. In 2013, they worked as a Computer Repair Technician at PC Recycle & Repair, providing IT support and performing repairs.

In 2014, Garet joined A Place for Mom as a Technology Support Agent, handling tier 1 support requests and deploying software packages. They quickly progressed to become the Team Lead for the Technical Operations team, where they managed a large AWS environment and implemented DevOps strategies for faster deployments and automated systems administration tasks. As the Telephony Systems Engineer, they generated a comprehensive phone number list, tracked number assignments and usage, and reduced costs for unused numbers.

Since 2017, Garet has been working at Ookla as a Systems Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer III. Their responsibilities at Ookla include ensuring the reliability and performance of software systems.

Garet Wirth completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physiology, General at the University of Washington from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified Developer - Associate from Amazon Web Services in June 2017, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in February 2017, and Cisco CCENT from Cisco in February 2014.
