Joanna Dudley began their work experience in 2012 as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) (JET). Joanna then worked as a Translator for Gengo from November 2017 to May 2018.
In 2018, they joined Pioneer Companies, where they held two roles: Tenant Services Administrator from August 2018 to February 2022, and Special Project Manager from February 2018 to February 2022.
Joanna then pursued further education at Ada Developers Academy in 2022. During their time there, they completed a coding program covering various topics like CS fundamentals, Python, SQL, Flask, APIs, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and React. Joanna also worked on several projects, including a capstone project called DIY Skincare App, where they built a full-stack mobile application using Python, Flask, and SwiftUI. Additionally, they worked on other classroom projects, such as Full Stack Inspiration Board and Weather App.
In 2022, they interned as a Software Development Intern at Slack, where they worked with the Mobile Build and Release team. Their responsibilities included creating internal tools to support mobile developers, such as building an integrated Slack bot that provided developers with real-time information about the mobile release train.
Currently, Joanna is a Software Engineer I at Ookla, starting in 2023.
Joanna Dudley completed their education history with a variety of experiences. In 2008, they enrolled at Bryn Mawr College and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies. During their time at Bryn Mawr, they also attended Temple University Japan in 2010.
After their undergraduate studies, Joanna pursued a career in computer software engineering. In 2022, they attended the Ada Developers Academy, where they obtained expertise in this field.
Additionally, Joanna has acquired additional certifications in the Japanese language. In 2014, they successfully passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2, and in 2016, they achieved the JLPT N1 certification, both offered by The Japan Foundation.
