Juan Paez

Juan Paez is an experienced electrical modelling and simulation specialist currently working at OPAL-RT Technologies since November 2022, focusing on power systems modelling, particularly HVDC and FACTS, as well as real-time simulation of power converters. Previously, Juan held various positions at SuperGrid Institute from February 2015 to October 2022, where responsibilities included modelling, simulation, and control of power converters, analyzing the interaction of power converters with power systems, and conducting system studies of DC networks. Juan's expertise encompasses DC/DC converters for HVDC applications, circuit modelling, control design, and testing. Juan's educational background includes a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Université Grenoble Alpes, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from INSA Lyon, and an Electronics Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
