Saeed Sharifi is a PhD candidate and graduate research assistant at The University of British Columbia, focusing on the design, simulation, and hardware evaluation of novel solutions for highly efficient and fault-tolerant power conversion in high-voltage direct current systems. Concurrently, Saeed serves as a graduate teaching assistant for various engineering and physics courses. In addition to academic roles, Saeed works as a MITACS Accelerate Research Fellow at OPAL-RT Technologies and has conducted research on photovoltaic panel shading mitigation at Solar Earth Technologies Ltd. Previous experience includes serving as a research associate at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and a senior R&D engineer at Arman Energy Company. Saeed holds a Master’s Degree in Power Electronics & Motor Drives and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Systems, both from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
