Alan Fitzpatrick

Alan Fitzpatrick has an extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Alan began their career in 1997 as the Director of Network Engineering and Planning at CT Communications, Inc. In 1999, they moved to NETtel Communications as the Vice President of Engineering, where they were responsible for engineering functions for a start-up nationwide telecom. In 2000, they joined US LEC Corp as the Senior Vice President of Engineering, where they had responsibility over vendor negotiation/management, NOC, project management, provisioning, and core engineering functions for a voice and data network selling to enterprises. In 2007, they became the Global Vice President of Network Services at ACN Inc., where they had global responsibility for ACN's broadband and VoIP network, including IP video phones. In 2009, they co-founded mailVU.com, which they took from the idea stage to profitability and won several start-up competitions. In 2014, they became the Chief Operating Officer at DC74 Data Centers, which was recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal in the Fast 50 list of fastest growing private companies in the region. Alan also co-founded Charlotte Hearts Gigabit, where they educated and advocated for ultra high speed internet and digital transformation in the region. In 2017, they co-founded Open Broadband LLC, an Internet Service Provider, and NC Hearts Gigabit, a project of NC Broadband Matters. Alan also served as an Adjunct Professor at Central Michigan University, teaching graduate and undergraduate level online courses in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.

Alan Fitzpatrick holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management, where they studied Operations, and a BSIE from Purdue University, where they studied Industrial Engineering.
