Mark Sapir has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mark began their career in 1992 as a Sales Manager at Hormel Foods. Mark then worked at SymphonyIRI Group as a Brand Specialist before joining Kraft Foods as a Director of Marketing in 1996. From 2003 to 2005, they served as the Global Marketing Director at Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. Following that, they worked at The Topps Company as the VP of Marketing for the Sports & Entertainment Divisions from 2005 to 2013.
In 2013, they joined Merrick Pet Care, Inc. as the VP of Marketing, where they played a pivotal role in transforming the company into the fastest-growing pet food brand in the natural and organic pet specialty industry. During their time at Merrick, the company saw significant growth, and in 2015, they successfully sold the company to Nestle Purina Pet Care.
After Merrick, Mark Sapir joined Stella & Chewy's as the Chief Marketing Officer in 2016. Mark was instrumental in leading the brand's transformation from a small niche player to the second-fastest-growing brand in the pet industry. Under their leadership, the business tripled in size and created substantial value for shareholders.
Currently, Mark Sapir serves as the Chief Marketing Officer at Open Farm Inc., a position they started in October 2021.
Mark Sapir completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business at Indiana University Bloomington from 1989 to 1992. Mark pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Marketing/Marketing Management, General, from NYU Stern School of Business, attending from 1996 to 1997.
