Simone Villa

Internship Trainee

Simone Villa is a skilled research fellow and medical professional with extensive experience in public health and epidemiology. From February 2020 to October 2023, Simone worked at the Centre Multidisciplinary Research in Health Science, contributing to the EU-funded EU-PEARL project, which focused on developing clinical trial protocols for tuberculosis and latent TB infection. Additional experience includes an internship at ATS Città Metropolitana di Milano, where Simone conducted a cohort study assessing the effects of COVID-19 in Lombardy, and a consultancy role with the World Health Organization examining polio transition strategies. Previous internships involved tuberculosis prevention strategies among migrants and the treatment of latent TB. Academically, Simone holds a Master in Global Health and is pursuing a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, following a first-class honours degree in Medicine and Surgery from Università degli Studi di Milano.
