Rishab Ghosh

Rishab Ghosh is a prominent figure in the field of open source and technology, serving as an Emeritus Board Member and Board Observer for the Open Source Initiative since March 2005. Rishab was the first non-US Board Member and held this role for five years before becoming a Board Observer. Between December 2013 and February 2020, Rishab served as a Board Member at Apple, leading engineering for Apple Search in international markets following the acquisition of Topsy, where Rishab co-founded and was Chief Scientist from 2006 until its acquisition in 2013. Additionally, Rishab headed the Collaborative Creativity Group at UNU-MERIT, focusing on the economics of open source and access to knowledge, and has contributed to various organizations as a juror, program leader, and researcher throughout a distinguished career in technology and research.
