Johan Nel

Johan Nel has a long history of working in the technology industry. Johan began their career in 1988 as a Technical Researcher at SABC. In 1991, they joined Computer Foundation as a Manager, starting in Sales and then working in Projects, starting the Data Brokering Services division and introducing new technologies. In 2000, they moved to Munsys as a Sales Manager. Finally, in 2001, they became a founding member and Chief Technology Officer at Open Spatial, providing management and leadership in all technical aspects of the organisation, with extensive experience in solution design and implementation for GIS, AutoCAD and Oracle Spatial solutions.

Johan Nel obtained a Master's Degree in Geography from the University of Johannesburg between 1982 and 1988. Prior to this, they completed Year 12 at Hoërskool Roodepoort between 1977 and 1981.
