Charles Proctor

Charles Proctor is currently the Associate General Counsel for Privacy at OpenAI, a role they assumed in 2025. Previously, they served as Senior Privacy Counsel at OpenAI after a tenure at Google as Privacy Counsel. Charles has also gained extensive experience in the legal field through positions as Law Clerk to the Hon. Lucy H. Koh at the U.S. District Court, Privacy Counsel at Facebook, and various roles with the U.S. Attorney's Office. They hold a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
