Derek Salama

Derek Salama is an experienced product management professional with a strong background in technology and cross-functional collaboration. Currently serving as a member of the product staff at OpenAI since December 2024, Derek previously worked at Tecton from March 2021 to September 2024 as a principal product manager, playing a key role in scaling the organization during significant growth. Prior experience includes positions at Lyft, where Derek launched AI and UX-focused products such as Driver Bonus Zones, and at Google, which included participation in the 2014 Associate Product Manager Class, focusing on enhancing ad relevancy for search ads. Derek began the career as a software engineering intern while earning a BA in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, completed in June 2014.
