Franklin Wang

Franklin Wang is a researcher at OpenAI since June 2025, specializing in reasoning. Previously, Franklin was a research intern at Together AI, developing innovative strategies for speculative decoding and writing GPU kernels. As a student researcher at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), Franklin contributed to significant projects, including debiasing methods for multimodal retrieval and the development of a vision model interpretability agent. Franklin's experience includes a software engineering internship at Anyscale, focusing on preference tuning and synthetic data for training, and an ML research internship at Genesis Molecular AI, where Franklin researched graph neural networks for molecular dynamics. Additional internships include work at Uniphore on NLP models and Noah Medical in software development. Franklin holds a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
