Jade Nie is a member of the technical staff at OpenAI since September 2025, specializing in LLM inference. Prior to this role, Jade served as a principal research scientist at Meta from October 2019 to August 2025, focusing on monetization machine learning infrastructure and leading the GEM initiative, which successfully scaled training for ads foundation models and was recognized in Meta's earnings calls. Earlier experience includes a software engineer internship at Meta in 2018, and two internships at Google in 2016 and 2017. Jade holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Princeton University and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
