Joseph Fireman is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at OpenAI since February 2024. Prior to this role, Joseph was Senior Product Counsel at Verily, a Google affiliate, from September 2015 to December 2023, after transferring from Google where Joseph held the position of Legal Counsel for a brief period. Joseph's earlier experience includes serving as Corporate Counsel at Pfizer from September 2011 to May 2015, and as a Legal Intern at the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project in the summer of 2009. Joseph holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School (2008-2011) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley (2003-2007).
