Joseph Larson

Joseph Larson currently serves as the Vice President and Head of Government at OpenAI since July 2025. Larson has a diverse background in national security and technology, having previously held key roles such as Senior Vice President for National Security Operations at Anduril Industries and Chief of Algorithmic Warfare at the Department of Defense's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office. Experience also includes foundational work as Deputy Chief at Project Maven and strategic implementation roles at Palantir Technologies. With additional legal expertise gained as an associate at Sidley Austin LLP, Larson’s education includes a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
