Roy Chen is currently a Design Production professional at OpenAI, having joined in March 2024. Previously, Roy served as a Senior Producer at Apple from November 2023 to March 2024, where responsibilities included leading content operations and strategy for the navigational header and search features on apple.com. Before Apple, Roy was the Head of UX Development & Culture at YouTube from November 2021 to April 2023, focusing on designing programs to enhance connection, creativity, inspiration, and inclusivity within the design community. Roy's tenure at Google from February 2017 to November 2021 as a Senior Program Manager involved driving cross-Google initiatives to promote growth and culture within the UX sphere. Earlier experience includes roles at UL as a Project Coordinator/Lab Engineer and WiSE RF Technician, as well as an internship in a private wearable biosensor design and manufacturing company. Roy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Management Information Systems from San José State University, alongside prior education at De Anza College and Prospect High School.
