Yi Sun is currently a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, focusing on making intelligence happen. Previously, they worked at Google from 2012 to 2017, where they held roles including Senior Staff Software Engineer and contributed to large language models for ads applications. Yi also served as Lead Algorithm Engineer at Liulishuo from 2017 to 2019. They earned a PhD in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from IDSIA, USI & SUPSI, as well as a Master's in Statistical Signal Processing and a Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
