Zachary Sheldon is currently the Head of Chemistry at OpenBench, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, they were a PhD Candidate at Indiana University Bloomington from 2017 to 2020. From 2016 to 2017, they held the role of Associate Research Chemist at Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From 2015 to 2016, they were an Associate Researcher at the Uttam Tambar Laboratory and the Jiyong Lee Laboratory. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Student Researcher at the O'Connor Chromaffin Cell and Hypertension Laboratory, where they worked on an independent research project studying the cell biology and genetics of the Chromagrannin A protein and its implications concerning hypertension. In 2012, they held the role of Intern at the Children's Medical Center, where they were accepted into the Jumpstart Program and worked in the Solid Organ Transplant Unit.
Zachary Sheldon attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2017 to 2022, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Organic Chemistry. Prior to that, they attended UC San Diego from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacological Chemistry.
