Satya Mallick

Satya Mallick has a strong background in research and technology development. Satya is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at OpenCV since January 2019. Prior to this, they founded Big Vision in February 2014 where they also worked as a partner. Before that, they served as the Founder and Chief Technology Officer (R&D) at Sight Commerce Inc./TAAZ.com from August 2007 to August 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Research Scientist at Kriegman-Belhumeur Vision Technologies from January 2007 to April 2007. Satya started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of California, San Diego from December 2001 to September 2006. Satya also had a brief role as a Research Assistant at The Scripps Research Institute in 2005.

Satya Mallick has a diverse education history. Satya first attended Kendriya Vidyalaya, but the specific years and degrees obtained from this institution are unknown. Following this, from 1995 to 1997, they attended Ravenshaw College and obtained a High School degree. Continuing their education, from 1997 to 2001, Satya pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Finally, from 2001 to 2006, they attended UC San Diego, where they earned a Ph.D. in Computer Vision. Satya has also obtained additional certification in "Computer Vision for Faces" from Big Vision LLC in November 2017.
