Ryan Black

Ryan Black is the current Head of Legal Operations at Opendoor. Prior to this, Ryan was the Senior Manager of Legal Operations at Instacart from May 2016 to October 2018. In this role, Ryan was responsible for developing and managing operational processes and procedures for Instacart's multi-disciplinary legal department. Ryan also implemented company systems and policies around alcohol regulation, new economy labor challenges, and timely franchise tax filing. In addition, Ryan managed relationships with outside lobbyists to reform alcohol legislation and regulation.

Before working at Instacart, Ryan was in private practice as a corporate attorney. Ryan has also worked as a law clerk for a federal judge and as a summer associate at a large law firm. Ryan received their J.D. from Harvard Law School and their B.A. from Stanford University.

Ryan Black holds a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.

They are on a team with and Andrew Luadzers - Associate General Counsel. Ryan Black reports to Beth Stevens, Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary.
