Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith has a diverse range of work experience. Benjamin is currently employed as a Software Engineer II at OpenEye. In this role, they are responsible for full stack development, including creating database versions, designing RESTful endpoints, and styling components in REACT.

Prior to joining OpenEye, Benjamin worked at HCL Technologies as a Developer from December 2020 to November 2021.

Before that, Benjamin served as a Kitchen Manager at Maverik, Inc. from September 2019 to December 2020.

In 2018, Benjamin founded their own business, Web Datum LLC., where they worked as a Data Integrations Consultant until December 2020. In this role, they developed websites and implemented database pipelining for marketing opportunities and business growth.

From 2014 to 2020, Benjamin worked as a Mathematics/Computer Science Tutor, both as a self-employed tutor and at Eastern Washington University.

Additionally, Benjamin has volunteered at Spokane Head Start/ECEAP/EHS as a Chairperson of the Policy Council from September 2017 to September 2018. Benjamin also volunteered as a Parent Ambassador and advocated for early childhood education.

Benjamin has also worked as a Lead Cook at The Davenport Hotels, Autograph Collection from June 2013 to June 2016.

Furthermore, they served as a Senator in the Associated Student Government at Spokane Falls Community College from October 2014 to July 2015.

Benjamin Smith earned their Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Denver, completing their studies from 2020 to 2022. Before that, they attended Eastern Washington University from 2015 to 2020, where they obtained a degree in Mathematics with a focus on Mathematics and Computer Science. Prior to attending Eastern Washington University, Benjamin attended Spokane Falls Community College from 2013 to 2015 and received an Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS degree in transfer.
