John Stevens has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. John started their career as an Electronics Maintenance Technician in the United States Marine Corps, where they were responsible for troubleshooting and repairing ground radio communications equipment. John also served as the Information Systems Coordinator for their command during this time.

After leaving the Marine Corps, John transitioned into the field of software engineering. John initially worked as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at OpenEye, automating end-to-end tests for their Apex server software. John then moved on to become a Software Engineer on the OpenEye Web Services (OWS) team, where they contributed to the development and maintenance of a large software project using TypeScript/React and Java/Spring technologies. John also implemented a prorated pricing calculator feature for the company's COO and sales engineers.

John's career progression at OpenEye continued as they took on the role of Software Engineer II. In this position, they worked as the lead developer on the Release Groups project, a complex feature aimed at replacing the company's non-cloud-based software release management system. John also provided technical and professional oversight for a team of engineers.

Most recently, John was promoted to the role of Software Engineering Manager at OpenEye, starting in April 2023. This position involves managing a team and overseeing software engineering projects.
