Hanxing Shi

Hanxing Shi has over 20 years of experience in the field of engineering and photonics design. From 1999 to 2002, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 2002 to 2003, they were a Member of Technical Staff at Yotta Networks. From 2003 to 2007, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Photodigm. From 2007 to 2008, they served as a Sr. Device Engineer/Project Manager at Novalux. From 2008 to 2019, they were a Principal Engineer and Senior Design Engineer/Project Lead at Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ: FNSR). From 2019 to 2021, they were the VP of Engineering at an Optoelectronics Company. Currently, they are a Senior Staff Engineer, Silicon Photonics (Aurrion=>OpenLight) at Juniper Networks and a Senior Design Manager and Principal Photonics Design Engineer at OpenLight.

Hanxing Shi obtained a B.S. in Physics from Beijing Normal University between 1990 and 1994. Hanxing then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which they completed in 1999. From 1999 to 2001, they attended UC Santa Barbara for Electrical Engineering.
