Kyle Morioka

Kyle Morioka has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Starting in 2015, they worked at Shift as the Chief of Staff to the CEO, where they played a key role in securing a $140M Series D funding round and managed board meetings and presentations. Kyle later took on the role of Head of Field Operations, overseeing last-mile delivery operations and expansion across multiple locations and markets.

In 2019, Kyle joined Lyft as an Operations Leader, contributing to the launch and growth of Lyft Rentals. Kyle was responsible for building operations from scratch and expanding to five locations. Kyle handled local profit and loss management, field and fleet operations, and oversaw new market launches.

Also in 2019, Kyle became a Mentor at Berkeley SkyDeck, providing guidance and support to early-stage startups. Kyle then founded OpenReq in 2020, a recruiting firm specializing in technical and sales talent for early-stage startups. OpenReq offers embedded recruiting teams to help startups accelerate hiring growth and establish talent acquisition best practices.

In the same year, Kyle joined Rivian as a Group Product Manager, leading multiple high-performance product, design, and engineering teams. Kyle played a crucial role in building consumer and enterprise web/mobile software, including consumer products and internal tooling serving thousands of customers and employees.

Most recently, in 2022, Kyle founded kwery, a company that empowers teams to make data-driven decisions faster using everyday language, eliminating the need for SQL.
