Jon Chang

Director, Human Resources at OpenRoad Group

Jon Chang has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in human resources. Jon started their career as a Human Resources Administrator at 60 Seconds Autobody, where they handled HR administrative duties and managed staff scheduling. Afterward, they worked as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia. Jon then moved on to Hua RJ Technology and Securities Ltd., where they served as a Human Resources Consultant, leading projects to improve employee satisfaction and develop corporate communication indicators. Later, at AFRO - Asia Magazines Ltd., they worked as a Human Resources Generalist, leading conflict management programs and revising HR policies. Jon then joined CTBC Bank as a Human Resources Manager, earning recognition as the 2015 Canada Best Employee of the Year. In this role, they focused on developing HR strategies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Jon further expanded their HR expertise by working as a Strategic HR Consultant at Climefort Ltd, where they revised HR policies and selected new recruits. Most recently, Jon served as the Director of Human Resources at OpenRoad Group, where they led HR strategy and collaborated with OEM partners to drive training initiatives. In this position, they also played a part in winning the Canadian Automotive Dealers Association Laureate Business Innovation Award.

Jon Chang completed their education in a variety of institutions. In 2023 and 2024, they attended the University of Oxford and obtained an Executive Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip.) in Business Strategy and Innovation. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc.) in Business Management at the University of Edinburgh. Furthermore, from 2004 to 2009, they studied at the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom.) degree with a double major in Human Resources Management and International Business Management. Jon also acquired additional certifications, including SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) in 2018, Chartered Professional in Human Resources from CPHR BC & Yukon in 2016, Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in 2014, and an E-Business Concentration from the University of British Columbia in 2009.
