Joel Gratz is the founding meteorologist and CEO of OpenSnow, committed to providing accurate and personable weather information to help people enjoy the outdoors. They previously founded Colorado Powder Forecast (2007–2011), delivering straightforward snow forecasts for Colorado skiers and riders. They also worked as a modeling analyst and meteorologist at iCat (2006–2010), where they helped create hurricane track and damage forecasts and contributed to the ICAT Damage Estimator. They earned an MS in Meteorology & Policy from the University of Colorado Boulder (2003–2006), an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder (2004–2006), and a BS in Meteorology from Penn State University (1999–2003).
