Steve Coast

Steve Coast has a long and varied work experience. Steve began their career in 2004 when they founded the OpenStreetMap project. In this role they wrote all the early software, gave hundreds of talks, ran the mailing lists, maintained the server infrastructure and just about everything else. In 2019 they took on the role of VP Community at TomTom. Steve has also held the roles of Sr Manager at DigitalGlobe since 2017, Board Member at Mountain Middle School since 2017, Founder at Coast Heavy Industries since 2016, Advisor at Auth0 since 2014, Advisor at SPACEKNOW Inc. since 2015, Advisor at Navmii since 2016, and Advisor at MapJam Inc. since 2016. Steve has also been an Advisor at ChoreHat since 2014.

Steve Coast obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from UCL between 1999 and 2005. Steve also holds certifications from PADI, including a Rescue Diver (obtained in December 2022), Advanced Open Water Diver (obtained in July 2022), and Open Water Diver (obtained in June 2022). Additionally, they hold a certification from edX for Bio150x: Autophagy: Research Behind the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (obtained in April 2020).
