John Heyer

John Heyer is an accomplished network engineer with extensive experience in cloud network administration and security, specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a Principal Cloud Network Administrator at OpenText since March 2018, John focuses on network automation and GKE/Kubernetes planning. Prior roles include Lead Cloud Network Engineer and Sr. Network Engineer, with a proven record of designing and implementing data centers, optimizing WAN routing, and managing large-scale migrations. John has also held positions at companies such as Hightail, PayPal, Gap Inc. Direct, and RealNetworks, contributing to various network architecture and security projects. John holds degrees in History of Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, and has completed additional studies in Internet Programming and Computer Programming at UCSC Silicon Valley Extension.
