Michael Demastrie has a diverse background in the aviation and software engineering industries. They began their career in the U.S. Air Force as a Communication/Navigation/Radar Technician from 1985 to 1990, then worked as an Avionics Technician at Midway Airlines and later served as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician and an Avionics Instructor/Training Manager at Delta Air Lines from 1991 to 1997. Transitioning to software, Michael held various roles, including Senior QA Engineer at SilverStream Software and Software QA Architect at Novell, Inc., before becoming the Director of Software Engineering at Micro Focus from 2005 to 2023. Currently, they serve as the Director of Software Engineering at OpenText following its acquisition of Micro Focus in January 2023. Michael earned their degree from Northcentral University between 2006 and 2016.
