David Mackay is a Board Member and experienced pilot with a diverse background in aviation and engineering. Currently serving on the advisory boards of OpenUK, Asteria Space, FIRE ARROW, and Doña Ana County Jetport, David’s previous roles include Captain at Virgin Atlantic Airways and various leadership positions at Virgin Galactic. David's military experience includes serving as a pilot in the Royal Air Force, specializing in Harrier and test piloting. Academically, David holds a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from The University of Glasgow and has pursued studies in linguistics at the Institute of Linguists, Bristol University. David trained as a test pilot at Ecole du Personnel Navigant d'Essais et de Reception (EPNER) in the late 1980s.
