André Rugere has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles in the field of data engineering and business intelligence. André is currently working as a Data Engineer at OpenVPN Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Data Engineer at QuintoAndar, a Brazilian unicorn and the second largest startup in Latin America, from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they built resilient and robust data pipelines using various technologies such as Airflow, PySpark, SparkSQL, and Databricks.
Before joining QuintoAndar, André worked as a Data Engineer at CELK Sistemas from 2020 to 2021. Here, they were responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Business Intelligence products using SQL, Python, Javascript, AWS, Apache Airflow, and other technologies.
André also has experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Universidad de Deusto in 2020, and as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Neoway Business Solutions from 2019 to 2020. In these roles, they worked on BI projects development, ETL scripting, multidimensional modeling, dashboard design, and query optimization.
Earlier in their career, André worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Softplan Planejamento e Sistemas from 2017 to 2019. Here, they were involved in BI projects development, datamarts development, ETL scripting, multidimensional data modeling, and dashboard maintenance. André also served as a Project Assistant in the same company.
André's work experience also includes roles at Exact Sales as a Process Analyst in 2017, at Flex Contact Center as a Project Analyst in the PMO in 2016, and at IEL/SC as an Administrative Assistant from 2012 to 2015.
André Rugere obtained their Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in IT Management from IFSC - Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina. André attended from 2018 to 2021.
Prior to that, André completed a Graduate Course in Software Engineering at SENAI/SC - Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial from 2015 to 2017.
Their earlier education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA in Business Administration from Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina. André graduated from this program in the period between 2011 and 2014.
In addition to their formal education, André has also earned certifications in the field. André completed the "Apache Airflow Fundamentals" certification by Astronomer in April 2021. Previously, in January 2020, they obtained the "Specialization: From Data to Insights with Google Cloud Platform" certification from Coursera.
