Peter deVries

Peter deVries is an accomplished violinist and educator with extensive experience as a professor, concertmaster, and private teacher. Notably, Peter served as the concertmaster for the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, where leadership roles included directing chamber music series and handling sectional rehearsals. As a professor of violin at both Central Piedmont Community College and Instituto Jean Piaget, Peter has dedicated time to nurturing advanced violin students. Currently, Peter holds positions as concertmaster for Opera Carolina and serves as an artist in residence at Queens University of Charlotte. In addition to a rich performance background, which includes freelance teaching since 2006, Peter has experience in business development with SnapAV from 2006 to 2019. Peter earned both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana University Bloomington.
