Scott Horvitz

Scott Horvitz has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Scott served as the President and CEO of Opertech Bio since September 2011. In this role, they led the development of innovative taste testing technology used in the food and beverage, flavor ingredients, pet food, and pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to Opertech Bio, Horvitz worked as the CFO of Redpoint Bio Corporation from August 2003 to December 2016. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in securing funding through reverse merger public offerings, raising a substantial amount of capital.

Horvitz also served as a member of the Board of Directors at Protez Pharmaceuticals from 2004 to 2008. Scott'sinvolvement in the company contributed to its growth and success.

At 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Horvitz was a co-founder and CFO. Scott worked in the drug discovery industry, utilizing advanced technologies to develop orally active pharmaceuticals. Scott'scontributions were pivotal in negotiating a merger with Johnson & Johnson and raising capital through an initial public offering.

Before joining 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Horvitz worked as the Director of Finance at Magainin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Starting in 1990, they directed the financial operations of the company as it transitioned from a developmental stage to a publicly traded corporation. Horvitz played a key role in raising capital through various public offerings.

Earlier in their career, Horvitz worked as a Senior Audit Manager at Eisner LLP from 1983 to 1990.

Scott Horvitz received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University at Albany, SUNY from 1977 to 1981.
