Tom Mather

Dr. Mather is a distinguished Oculoplastic surgeon with over 35 years of expertise. After completing his Ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and a fellowship in Oculoplastic surgery at the University of Arizona, he furthered his knowledge through executive studies at the Wharton School of Business. A board-certified Ophthalmologist and esteemed fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS), Dr. Mather co-founded the Physicians Eye Surgery Center in 2004, later acquired by U.S. Eye in 2020.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mather has been a key player in various start-up companies, including Encore Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Novartis in 2017), Allysta Pharmaceuticals (where he serves as a clinical advisor), Premark (a Swiss company focused on blepharitis treatment, where he serves as a clinical advisor), BlinkCNS (a groundbreaking CNS disease diagnostic device, where he is a scientific advisor), and MCAL Therapeutics (where he holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer and board member). Additionally, he serves as a principal at Medical Access Partners, contributing to the incubation of innovative medical devices.
