Don Stader

Medical Director, Emergency Medicine at OpiSafe

Don is an emergency physician and Associate Medical Director at Swedish Medical Center, and an opioid policy expert. He is also an innovator and an entrepreneur.

He serves as the Senior Pain Management & Opioid Policy Advisor for the Colorado Hospital Association and in that role, performs clinician education on Alternatives to Opioids (ALTO), opioid reduction, harm reduction and opioid addiction treatment from the ED.

He is a board member and former president of the Colorado’s chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Medicine Resident’s Association. He was editor-in-chief of EMRA’s 2017 Opioid Prescribing & Treatment Guidelines.

Don earned his bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine.
