Paul Appleton

Paul Appleton serves as the Treasurer and Head of Capital Markets at Oportun since December 2022. Prior to this role, Paul held key positions including Managing Director of Consumer Finance at MUFG Union Bank, N.A. from August 2017 to March 2023, and Executive Vice President for Consumer & Small Business Banking at Bank of the West from April 2015 to August 2017. Previous experience includes Senior Vice President of Dealer Financial Services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, and Vice President in Financial Planning Analysis at JPMorganChase. Paul began a consulting career at The Boston Consulting Group. Paul holds an MBA from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a Master of Engineering from the University of Leeds.
