Jonathan Gan

Jonathan Gan is a Senior Video Standards Researcher at OPPO since December 2021, focusing on exploratory topics in the Joint Video Experts Team related to future standardization, particularly in neural network-based video coding. Prior to this role, Jonathan served as a Senior Research Engineer at Canon Australia, where contributions were made to the VVC/H.266 video coding standard and MPEG initiatives. At CISRA, Jonathan held both Senior Research Engineer and Research Engineer positions, engaging in multi-camera network calibration, color normalization, and contributions to various video coding standards including HEVC/H.265 and JPEG-XS. Jonathan's early career included experiences at CSIRO and UNSW, alongside a comprehensive academic background with a PhD and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from UNSW.
