John McDonald

John McDonald has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. John is currently working at OpSec Security as the Global Director of Materials Science since 2022. Prior to this, John worked at JOHN LEWIS PARTNERSHIP PLC as the Quality, Innovation and Sustainability Manager from 2020 to 2022. John also served as the Raw Materials Engineering Manager at Burberry, where they focused on developing sustainable processes for fabric manufacturing from 2017 to 2018. John has a background in education as well, having worked as a Qualified Physics Teacher at Newcastle SCITT from 2016 to 2017. John has also held technical and managerial roles at API Foils, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, W.L.GORE and Associates UK Ltd, Brunner Mond, and Norbrook Laboratories throughout their career.

John McDonald has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. John also has a Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and another MSc in Polymer Science and Technology from The University of Manchester. Furthermore, they hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry from Queen's University Belfast.

In addition to their formal education, John McDonald has also obtained certifications in different fields. John is a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher from Yoga Alliance, which they obtained in June 2016. John is also a Prince 2 Practitioner, certified by APMG International in May 2011.
