Phil Diggle

Phil Diggle is an accomplished professional in the field of diamond research and systems engineering, currently serving as Head of Systems Engineering, Research Lead, and Systems Engineer at Opsydia since March 2023. Phil also holds positions as a Visiting Academic and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, focusing on grant research related to diamond materials for maser operation. Previously, Phil worked as a Research Scientist at the De Beers Group, conducting research on diamond growth and defect incorporation, and as a Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Warwick, where studies were conducted within the Diamond Science and Technology CDT. Early career roles included ICT Technician at Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village and Reprographics Technician at Sale Grammar School. Phil earned a Ph.D. in Diamond Science and Technology from the University of Warwick and holds a BSc in Natural Sciences from The Open University and a BSc in Robotics and Automation from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
