Justin Li has a diverse work experience in various fields. Justin started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Department of Physiology at McGill University, where they conducted theoretical research on the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neuron network model. During this time, they implemented a minimal GnRH neuron model based on Izhikevitch's model and extended it to a neural network model.
After that, Justin worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at McGill University before joining the McGill School of Computer Science as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. In this role, they focused on theoretical research in the classification of No-signaling correlations, Popescu-Rohlirch (PR) box, and Quantum computation. Justin also worked on a project involving the development of a general strategy for bit commitment using Pseudo Telepathy games.
Justin then joined Shared Services Canada as a Support Analyst. Here, they were responsible for benchmarking HPC clusters and developing software to deploy various benchmark tests.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Justin continued at McGill University as a Masters Student. Their research focused on Cryptography and Quantum Computing, and their thesis title was "Bit commitment from Nonlocal games." Justin also worked as a Teaching Assistant during this time.
Most recently, Justin joined Optable as a Software Developer, and prior to that, they were an Intern Software Developer at the same company. The dates for their current role as a Software Developer are ongoing.
Justin Li attended Dawson College from 2012 to 2014, where they pursued a DEC in First Choice (Honours) Health Science. Following that, they attended McGill University from 2014 to 2017, earning a Bachelor's degree in Physics & Computer Science. Justin then continued their education at McGill University from 2018 to 2021, completing a Master's degree in Computer Science.
