Matthew Galman has over 20 years of work experience. From 2000-2005, they worked for Qwest Wireless as a Senior Financial Analyst, where they contributed to a 5-year strategic plan to raise average revenue per user with data applications, and wrote business cases to prioritize funding projects using DCF, IRR, and NPV. In 2004, they worked for Sage Hospitality Resources as a Financial Analyst, where they analyzed and reported on sales, operational, and financial data for a 50-hotel management company, and managed production of a $150M annual budget, monthly revenue forecasts, and daily revenue reporting. From 2005-2014, they worked for the University of Massachusetts Amherst in two roles. First, they were the Managing Director of the Institute for Cellular Engineering, where they led a Bioengineering Research Institute to enable faculty collaboration to write grants, partner with industry, and train students together. Matthew also coauthored a successful $3M federal grant to improve interdisciplinary student training, and organized an academic conference to highlight faculty research and increase collaboration opportunities. Additionally, they were a Business Office Consultant, where they investigated and remediated service delivery gaps in the university business office. Matthew diagnosed issues with surveys and interviews, recommended and implemented improvements, including clarifying responsibilities, creating a request log, and procedure manual, resulting in improved cycle times. Matthew also helped faculty by reconciling accounts and improving research trust fund reporting, resulting in better understanding of funds available. From 2008-2015, they worked for ADT Security as a Wireless Analyst, where they managed 15K wireless devices for a Fortune 500 Company, ordered devices, maintained an inventory database, as well as allocated expenses, reconciled balances, optimized plans, audited invoices, and helped customers. Matthew also led vendor relations and served as a subject matter expert for contract negotiations. Matthew was able to reduce expenses by $2M+ per year by correcting invoice errors, matching plans to usage, and canceling unneeded devices. Finally, from 2015-present, they have worked for Optelcon as Senior Director Mobility Operations and Customer Care, where they provide Telecom Expense Management services including sourcing, procurement, reporting, customer service, vendor management, and invoice management to multiple clients. Matthew has reduced wireless expense by negotiating lower rates, disputing invoice errors, matching plans to actual usage, canceling unneeded services, mitigating data and international costs, and improving client processes. Matthew primarily manages mobility, but also conference and circuit TEM.

Matthew Galman has a diverse educational background. Matthew obtained a BS in Biochemistry from Rutgers University from 1983 to 1987. Matthew then went on to receive an MS in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder from 1990 to 1994. After that, they earned an MBA in Finance and Technology Management from the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business from 1996 to 1998. In addition, they hold several certifications, including a Silver Telecom Management Professional from AOTMP (June 2012), a Six Sigma Green Belt from Tyco (November 2010), and various Microsoft Office certifications from Certiport (August-September 2010).
