Alex Formstone

Alex Formstone started working at Marakon in September 2007 as a Director. During their time there, they worked with C-suite executives of various FTSE100/250 and European companies, providing strategic and organizational advice. Their areas of expertise included strategic resource allocation, customer-driven business unit strategies, organizational design, and M&A. In February 2021, they joined Opteran as the COO/CFO. Opteran is a brain biomimicry company that aims to enable machines to move autonomously by reengineering insect brains onto silicon. The company is pioneering a paradigm shift in machine automation known as natural intelligence.

Alex Formstone completed their education in a chronological order. They first attended the University of Oxford from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Masters degree in Biochemistry. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the same institution from 2003 to 2007, successfully earning a D. Phil in Molecular Microbiology.
