Kyle Kroeck

Principal Scientist

Kyle Kroeck, Ph.D., is a Principal Scientist at Optibrium since September 2025, specializing in 3D structure and ligand-based design methods for pharmaceutical lead discovery and optimization, utilizing the BioPharmics platform. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Scientist at Schrödinger and as a Scientist at Xtal BioStructures, where Kroeck focused on structure-based drug design and high-resolution structure development of biomedically relevant proteins using advanced techniques such as NMR, X-ray crystallography, and Cryo-EM. Additional experience encompasses a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University, where Kroeck contributed to the development of membrane active polymers and high-resolution structures of membrane proteins, as well as a Graduate Research Assistantship at the University of South Florida, emphasizing drug design and structure-function relationships. Kroeck's academic background features a Ph.D. and an MS in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida, alongside a BS in Neurobiology from Florida State University.
