Lisa Banks has an extensive work experience spanning over 30 years. In 1986, they began their career as a Judicial Law Clerk for The Honorable John F. McAuliffe at the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Lisa then went on to serve as an Attorney at Patton Boggs LLP in 1987 and General Counsel at Torray Companies in 1989. In 2007, they became the Executive Director at Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Inc., where they also served as Resource Development & Program Manager. In 2014, they were appointed Vice President of Operations & Development at The Constitution Project. In 2017, they founded their own company, Altea Group, where they offered leadership training, program facilitation, and professional coaching services. Most recently, in 2018, they co-founded Optify, a Public Benefit Corporation with a mission to expand leadership coaching. At Optify, they guide the development and subscription sales of a state-of-the-art web-based platform and has trained and vetted a 60-member coaching team.
Lisa Banks has an extensive education history. Lisa began their studies in 1979, earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Communications from the University of Virginia in 1983. Lisa then went on to earn a Doctor of Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986. In 2016, they attended Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies to complete an Institute for Transformational Leadership in Facilitation and Leadership Coaching.
