Olivier Sorba

Olivier is now a consultant in statistics, machine learning, and IA, and an occasional business angel. In 2016, he became the Scientific Director of the Innovation Network of Lagardère Group, where he had been Director of Risks and Internal Control after joining it in 1995 as CEO and president of Lagardère North America.

He previously worked as an actuary and financial engineer within the Caisse des Dépôts group and then in the capital markets department of Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole (now Crédit Agricole CIB), where he developed fixed income and securitization operations.

Alumni of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de la rue d'Ulm (PSL/France) where he earned a Ph.D. in statistical physics and member of the French Institute of Actuaries.

In 2016, he defended a Ph.D. thesis in mathematical statistics and machine learning at the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard of the University of Paris Saclay. He published several contributions in this domain.

Olivier is a member of the board of the Institut de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure / PSL, where he contributes to organizing events bringing together business decision-makers and members of the academic community.
